Since then she has been passionate about creating a healthcare environment that offers a diverse approach to treatment that benefits both client and staff. This passion has shaped the evolution of a small multidisciplinary/complementary office to a diverse multi-model healthcare center. “Our goal is to be a great resource in the community, to generate a place where people can come and relax, heal, rejuvenate and connect with themselves in a non-stressful, noncompetitive environment for the sake of producing a more meaningful and fulfilling life.”

For most of my life, I've been passionate about and a little obsessed with understanding how to be the best, most graciously empowered version of myself that I can be. Along the way, I've gained a wealth of skills and tools to help people heal. I love sharing what I've learned and helping my patients feel better, healthier, and more aware and empowered than before.

I also studied and worked in major TCM Hospitals in Beijing, China. It is my experience that a healthy, well aligned body and mind free of tension, stress and toxicity allows for a healthy mood, an inspired outlook and a frequently magical life. Karen Hormell, C.P.I
Karen Hormell has worked in and been involved with health and fitness for most of her life, starting at the age of 10 when she discovered dance. Ever since, dance and movement have been part of who she is. Before she was introduced to Pilates, she fulfilled her love for movement by teaching ballet, jazz to children, pre and post-partum aerobics and traditional aerobics.
Karen was introduced to Pilates and knew instantly this is something she wanted to share with others. Karen spent several years working as a Pilates instructor under the direction of several thriving chiropractic and physical therapy practices. Karen also instructed at Amgen where she taught mat, group, and private classes for 5 years.
In 2010 Karen underwent two emergency back surgeries that would change the course of her instruction forever. The surgeries came with many complications and challenges, some of which she is still dealing with today. After many weeks of Physical Therapy with four different practitioners she was released to fend for herself. Thankfully Karen had the knowledge and determination through her past Pilates training to continue her long road to recovery.
During this time she decided to dedicate her time to the care of others in similar situations to regain better strength and mobility. She also wanted to help those with inflammatory conditions by showing them a safe effective modality with which to move their bodies. Rekindling her relationship with Shana at Bobysattva was the perfect place to make this vision a reality.
Karen's desire is to get you moving forward with safe, patient and compassionate help to regain a better sense of self.
